Abstract

This article responds to the kind invitation of the Editor and the Editorial Committee of the Revista Ocupación Humana to participate in a special issue celebrating the 50th anniversary of the foundation of our scientific organization and association of occupational therapists. It collects the memories, analyses, and reflections on the future by Professor Alicia Trujillo Rojas, the first president of the Colombian Association of Occupational Therapy -ACTO between 1972 and 1973 and re-elected for 1973 and 1974. Colombian College of Occupational Therapy- CCTO. This and the other texts by former presidents that are part of this special issue are full of the strength, energy, and projection of their authors and our profession. The result, then, is a significant historical testimony of what we have built and of the immense and powerful task that the Colombian College of Occupational Therapy has to continue building and responding to the challenges of being occupational – personal, collective, and social –, the country, the region, and the world.

Alicia Trujllo Rojas, Universidad Nacional de Colombia

Terapeuta ocupacional. Master of Arts. Profesora emérita de la Universidad Nacional de Colombia. Cofundadora del primer programa de formación en Terapia Ocupacional de Colombia, en la Universidad Nacional de Colombia, en 1966.   La profesora Alicia Trujillo es miembro fundadora de la Asociación Colombiana de Terapia Ocupacional, hoy Colegio Colombiano de Terapia Ocupacional. Fue su primera presidenta en el periodo 1972 a 1973, reelegida para los años 1973 a 1974.
